Bible Wednesday 12/4: Zion My Home

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 87:1-7. Verse 5, my Zion birth certificate, irrevocably issued to me by God. What obligations and opportunities are mine today as a result?

Isaiah 39:1-8. Hezekiah rashly shows the enemy his royal treasures. What’s at stake for me in maintaining—or not—a zone of wise privacy in my dealings with God?

Revelation 13:1-10. Verse 6, blasphemy as a deadly weapon against God’s people. What form does this take in the modern world? What can I do about it?

Luke 22:47-53. Jesus heals a wounded member of the arresting party. What’s the lesson for me as I fight in his defense today?
