Bible Monday 12/2: War in Heaven

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 81:1-16. Verse 10, as this day begins, do I have the faith, the humility, and the obedience to open my mouth wide and trust God to fill it?

Isaiah 37:1-38. God vanquishes the Assyrian invaders when the king prays. What battle have I been trying, without success, to fight on my own—when all the while, divine help is right there for the asking?

Revelation 12:1-12. What point of attack is being used against me these days by the Devil or Satan, the serpent or dragon? How am I protected by the blood of the Lamb? Are Micheal and his angels at hand?

Luke 22:35-38. Related, what is the sword Jesus commands me to wield today against all the gathering powers of darkness?
