Bible Wednesday 11/20: Worth the Wait

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 55:1-23. Verses 5-7, if I could escape today on the wings of a dove, what would I flee from and where would I go? What do I have that is better than the wings of a dove?

Isaiah 25:1-12. Verses 6-9, what evidence do I have from experience that heavenly deliverance is God’s intention for me and mine? Why do I trust that its full realization is worth waiting for?

Revelation 4:1-11. Entering God’s throne room. What would I say to a struggling non-believer who dismisses all this as merely “pie in the sky by and by”?

Luke 21:20-28. Grim scene at the end times. If Jesus comes back today, what do I want him to find me doing?
