Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 90:1-17. Verses 4, 10, 12, do I regard the passing years as friends or as foes? How does God want me to evaluate them and use them?
Isaiah 41:1-29. Verse 14, why am I, in God’s sight, scarcely better than a worm? Why does he graciously redeem me even so? How do those two incongruous facts play out in my experience here and now?
Revelation 14:1-13. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Whom do I remember lovingly and gratefully today?
Luke 22:54-71. What decisive moments will I face today and throughout this Advent season, of either owning up to Jesus as Lord, or denying him as Peter did?
