Bible Thursday 1/30: Who Shall Rule?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 75:1-10. Verses 6 and 7, what powerful offices in our world, now in dispute, am I trusting God today to fill with individuals of his choosing?

Genesis 30:1-43. Jacob beset with family tensions and quarrels. How do I need to have God show up in my personal relationships right now?

Malachi 1:9-14. Verse 13, weariness in serving God. Where do spiritual dryness and dull routine creep into my Christian life? What is to be done?

Matthew 12:9-14. Why can’t worldly knowledge explain—what Jesus knowledge can—that a man is better than a sheep? How does this deficit harm the human condition? What is my church doing about it?
