Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 23:1-5. Verse 3, what improvement that God could make in my circumstances today would feel like green pastures and still waters? What right have I to hope for this from him?
Proverbs 5:1-23. Verses 21 and 22, when has experience taught me that sin is its own punishment? Who needs my help on this before it’s too late?
Romans 11:22-36. Verse 29, related, have I sometimes acted as if to throw away God’s gifts to me? How did he rescue me from doing so? Application to present needs?
Matthew 7:7-12. Right here in my town, on my street, what opportunities can I find to glorify God by living the Golden Rule?
