Bible Saturday 3/8: My Candle

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 28, what aspect of darkness am I battling with right now, where I need God to bring light today?

Proverbs 3:1-35. Verses 5 and 6, related, in what way have I been leaning too much on my own understanding and not trusting enough in God?

Romans 11:1-10. This morning do I see the cause of Christ losing ground—in our world, in my church, even in me—or do I see the unbowed remnant of God’s elect, responsive to his grace?

Matthew 7:1-6. What pearls has Jesus entrusted to me? What does he want me to do with them today? What results can I expect?
