Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 144:1-15. Verse 1, what skills of war and fighting—in spiritual terms—has God taught me? How shall I specifically use them today?
Isaiah 2:1-22. Verses 8, 18, 20, what idols might allure me and ensnare me today if I’m not on guard?-
James 2:14-26. Verses 15-17, with all my professions about caring for the poor as Jesus taught, how fully do I match my words with deeds?
Luke 15:1-10. Do I know someone (perhaps even myself) who has been in the position of that one lost sheep out of one hundred that Jesus searched for and rescued? Who needs to hear about it from me today?
